What will the first session be like?

The first session will focus on connecting with your therapist and sharing information about your therapeutic needs and goals. Every therapist uses a different approach and always focuses on meeting you where you are at. There will always be opportunity for you to ask any questions or state any concerns that may come up during this time. This post may be helpful too.

How will therapy help me and how will I know this is what I or my child needs?

Therapy is a powerful tool and experience; however, it is only as powerful and helpful as you allow it to be. Traditional talk therapy helps people intentionally work on areas of challenge or areas in need of growth with an expert who can provide insight and better understanding to the functions of what is going on and help create tools and opportunity to heal. MMCC therapists are trained in various modalities to best meet the challenges that are presenting and offer more than just talk therapy. Therapeutic progress reflects through reduction of severity and duration of symptoms, as well as, increased management. Often we may feel a little more overwhelmed and exhausted before we reep the benefits of the therapeutic work. The goal is to reinforce the new material and tools and help move through stagnation that may be occurring. Our clinicians are eager to get the opportunity to support you through your therapeutic journey!

What does it mean that MMCC is Out Of network and does not accept insurance?

MMCC is not paneled with any insurance and each clinician and services has a set rate which will be discussed during the complimentary consultation and can be found in the paperwork provided. MMCC can provide a superbill upon request which you, the client will be responsible for providing to your insurance directly.
